Facebook

It was really exciting when people started doing these blogs as a way to stay in touch. Various friends and family members had their own blogs. On my home page I had their blog addresses so I could easily jump from one to the other and see what was going on in their lives and see photos. In the blogs stories were told in a way that made us laugh or be joyful as we were invited into the their homes.

Then came Facebook. Since Facebook I see almost no comments on my posts which tells me no one is looking at it anymore.

Facebook is great way to be in touch and see what is going on almost daily in snippets and to see posted photographs. It offers links to others and at a glance see comments by several people. It has allowed me to be in touch with friends and family that I have not seen or had contact in many years. That is what I like about it but I do miss what was lost by not using the blog. Some things lost while other things gained. Kind of like life isn't it?

More from Birch Bay

The eagle was in the bay as Teri and I were walking on the beach when I got this photo.
I found the heron in a wetland across from a yarn shop Teri was at.

Teri wanted to show me this shell so picked it up with her toes.

Washing the car

If Marissa keeps on doing such a good job of washing her Mom's car she will get the keys for sure when she turns sixteen

Thailand

This is one of my favorite shots I took in Thailand.

Fun with photoshop

Bald eagle at Birch Bay

A lucky shot of the resident bald eagle.

This eagle spends much of each day perched on a tree right ourside our door. Being on the fourth floor, we are not much below his perch so we had a good view of him.

Birch Bay

We had such a wonderful time staying in our time share in Birch Bay. We were so relaxed and enjoyed being there so much we really didn't want it to end.
This picture is what we see each evening as the day comes near its end.

Ryan and his family came to visit from New Mexico and as the word got out Teonei decided to come up from California and we decided we ought to go up to Washington to visit Kandle who had just moved there with her family. We had Kandle invite her mom who was able to bring Sebastian and Jason with his family. Sadly we had all the Salway kids except for Don and his family. Don's wife Lara was about to have our new grandson Ethan so it was not wise for them to travel so close to delivery.

These pictures record the great visit we all had. It is so wonderful to have a home that is so fun for the grand kids.

I am so glad that Jason and his family were able to come. We hope to get with them a lot more.

Zoe is growing into such a wonderful young woman.

Not only am I shorter than him I was also standing downhill from him.

It was great having them fly to Oregon to initiate this family get together.

We loved having Teonei and her kids with us and hope that next time Rajesh can join us. We really missed having him with us. Silly guy had to be responsible and work.

Thanks Chis for dressing for the photo. Next time maybe we will go more formal with the rest as well.

Kandle and Chris were nice enough to move to a nice home for this event. Well, OK that isn't why they moved there but it was wonderful visiting in their home.

Grand parents with grand kids in Kandle's back yard.

This shot was taken the next day after church. What a beautiful family.

Just plain cute!

Just had to have one shot with Sophie in it.

This pictures of Ryan reminds me of Danny Gokey on American Idol.

I'm not sure what she is holding. Kind of looks like some left over food from a child.

Little Lady...

Kandle and Chris's living room.

Willow is just so cool.

Elizabeth giving Willow's scooter a test drive.

Kandle has a rooster living in her back yard and yes, that is chicken poop she is sitting on. yuk
Cute rooster though.

He is bigger but she has the bigger stick.

Her first try on the skooter.

Book ends.

Three of the Chiteralla boys playing in the 'man room'.

Grandma Teri taught Dhruva how to crochet. He learned very quickly and even has the right tension.

At first Grandma taught him how to chain and after making a very long chain he wanted to know how to crochet so she taught him and he learned that very well. I look forward to seeing his first blanket.

It is great to be able to have a room just for the grandkids.

Well, OK the big guys like it too.
